    I’m from Northwest Missouri, and about twelve years ago, I was looking for a nice, gentle trail horse. I came across an ad for a two-year-old, Missouri Fox Trotter mare. Honestly, I was a little skeptical—two years old is pretty young—but I decided to go take a look anyway. That’s when I met Jerry and Emeri and their children, who were all still quite young at the time.

    The mare seemed really nice, so I took a chance and bought her—and I have never regretted it. She has been an absolutely wonderful family horse. Even my grandkids have enjoyed riding her over the years. Jerry did a fabulous job training her!

    Since then, I’ve become very good friends with Jerry and Emeri. I’ve gone back to ride the trails at their place many, many times and have brought several friends along with me over the years. Quite a few of them ended up buying some very nice Foxtrotters from Jerry, too.

    They are great people—honest, welcoming, and trustworthy. At this point, they just feel like family.

    A few years ago, I bred my mare to their stallion, Bob, and now I have a beautiful two-year-old filly who is just as sweet as she is pretty. I’m so glad I made the decision to buy that mare all those years ago. It was the start of something really special.

    My name is Bonnie Douglas and I am an old horsewoman from way back . The picture is me and my first pony , Rusty .I have been on HOMESTEAD HORSEMANSHIP Patreon since the very beginning when Oliver came into all our lives . Following the Rosas has been a deeply rewarding experience starting with a combined love for one horse , then branching out into joining a community embracing all the animals and becoming entwined into the family itself .
