We Came To Practice...Then Entered Our Stallion In A Class

After more than a month on stall rest with a tendon injury, our Missouri Fox Trotter stallion, Champ, is finally getting back into his normal routine.

With the Missouri Fox Trotter ...Grand Slam Show just around the corner, we decided to haul him to the show—not to compete, but simply to give him some much-needed practice. One of Champ's biggest challenges has always been whinnying in the show ring, and we hoped the experience would help him settle down before returning to competition.

But once we got there...we started wondering if maybe we should enter him after all.

Will Champ be ready? Did we make the right decision? You'll have to watch to find out!

While we're at the show, we also tackle a project we've wanted to do for a while—renovating our show stalls to give our horses more room and make them more comfortable during long show weeks.

Clydesdale Chaos...Then Our Horse Herd VANISHED!

Today definitely didn’t go as planned! We start the day giving our Clydesdale stallion’s beautiful feather a good wash while talking about him, his future as a gelding, and what’s ...been going on lately. He’s had plenty of energy… so much, in fact, that he tore down his gate! Because of his recent antics, it’s time for him to move into a different dry lot for a while.

After getting cleaned up, we lead him to his new pen where he wastes no time showing off with plenty of bucking, running, and playing. Then it’s time to tackle some homestead chores as we repair fences, check in on our Missouri Fox Trotter stallion, and make our rounds through the farm.

But that’s when things take an unexpected turn…

We head out to check on the herd and realize 18 horses are missing! 😳 For a while, we have no idea where they’ve gone. Thankfully, after a tense search, we finally find them safe—but it definitely got our hearts racing!

INJURED! Follow Up Vet Appointment For Our Stallion

A few weeks ago, our Missouri Fox Trotter stallion Champ suffered a tendon sheath injury in his leg, bringing his training and show season to an unexpected stop. Since then, ...he’s been on strict stall rest with only hand walking, cold water therapy, and daily leg wraps as he heals.

Now, after 8 long weeks, we’re headed back to the vet for a follow-up ultrasound, hoping for the news we’ve been waiting for—that Champ is healed and ready to begin training again for the remainder of the show season.

We’re also taking along our beautiful Missouri Fox Trotter mare Amber for a pregnancy check! If all goes well, she could be expecting, and in this video you’ll also get to meet the incredible Missouri Fox Trotter stallion she was bred to.

Join us as we anxiously wait for two important updates that could shape the rest of our year. Will Champ get cleared to return to work? And is Amber carrying next year’s foal?
