Missin’ A Boot

Lineage: Son to Bob and Tootsy Roll. Half sibling to Lakota, Happy & Chantilly and some many more! Grandson to Patty.

Boots was born right here on our homestead and will always hold a special place in our hearts. As the very first foal sired by our stallion, Bob, he marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our breeding program. His dam, Tootsy Roll, is a beautiful bay Missouri Fox Trotter mare owned by JR’s sister and lives just down the road at Grandma and Grandpa’s farm.

Boots has now moved on to his wonderful forever home, where he has begun the next chapter of his life. While we miss seeing his friendly face around the farm, we couldn’t be more excited for his future and the family who now gets to enjoy him.

From the moment Boots arrived, we knew he was something special. His sleek black coat, delicate white blaze, and three white stockings made him look like he was “missing a boot.” When JR’s sister first laid eyes on him, she laughed and said he looked like he was missin’ a boot—and the name stuck. His registered name became Missin’ A Boot, though around the farm he was simply known as Boots.

Watching Boots grow from a curious little foal into a handsome young gelding was a privilege. He inherited his sire’s gentle nature and willingness to learn, making him a joy to raise and train. Whether he was exploring the pasture, learning new skills, or simply asking for attention, Boots was always a favorite around the farm.

As his training progressed, he showed exceptional promise as a driving horse. He carried himself with elegance, moved with natural grace, and had the calm, willing attitude that makes a great partner. He also began his trail horse education, taking new experiences in stride and proving he had the temperament to excel wherever life would take him.

While it’s never easy to say goodbye to horses we’ve raised from birth, one of the greatest joys of breeding is watching them begin the next chapter of their lives. Seeing Boots leave for his forever home was bittersweet, but knowing he is loved and appreciated makes it all worthwhile.

Boots will always hold a special place in our hearts as our very first foal sired by Awe Looky Here Now (“Bob”). He marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our breeding program, and we are incredibly proud of the horse he has become. Though he is no longer part of our current herd, Boots will always be an important part of our farm’s history, and we look forward to watching his journey for years to come.
